Excellent quality fresh fish! Different league compared to the supermarkets in my opinion. Supermarket haddock or cod is often 'on the turn' when I have bought it. A slight ammonia type smell comes off the supermarket fish when I have cooked it, particularly haddock. Still ok to eat but a bit off putting. However the fish I have bought from Ellon fish shop is first class. Always smells and tastes delicious. Last week I bought mixed fish for a fish pie and it was 10 out of 10. Tonight i bought haddock and it tasted fantastic! The girls behind the counter are knowledgeable about the fish they sell which is a bonus if your going to cook something new. Would definetly recommend this shop. First class.
